Bound notebook with handwritten interior pages. Exterior of notebook is of cardboard and covered in dark brown marbled paper with brown leather spine. Housed inside a brown book cloth enclosure.

Notes found with book give a biographical sketch of Cyrus A. Brownell. These notes also include a list of all the voyages and sailing vessels the author mentions in his notebook. In addition, the notebook contains lyrics of sailor's's songs of the 19th c. The notebook was later used for household accounts and recipes. See object file.

Given by Barbara Jewell Pond in memory of her father, Dr. Willard Brownell Jewell of Little Compton.
