Stanton, Master/Sailed on August 2nd, 1846". Above this is a pencil drawing of a bald eagle, cannon and other American patriotic elements.
Contents include a daily log noting sailing conditions, weather, latitude and longitude coordinates, whale sightings and other noteworthy events. Toward back of journal are drawings, poems and recipes.
