Scope & Content Whaling journal. Brown leather spine with black and brown marbled front and back covers. Inside cover reads: "Journal of the Whaling Voyages in the/Brig Thomas Winslow of Wesport Mass./William B. Stanton, Master/Sailed on August 2nd, 1846". Above this is a pencil drawing of a bald eagle, cannon and other American patriotic elements.

Contents include a daily log noting sailing conditions, weather, latitude and longitude coordinates, whale sightings and other noteworthy events. Toward back of journal are drawings, poems and recipes.
