Scope & Content A box of Peleg Bailey family papers. Includes a handwritten inventory of the family papers created by Mrs. W.H. Fries, the original owner. She provides the following summary: "These papers range from the end of the 18th century to a decade or so after the Civil War. They are derived from Caroline A. Bailey, daughter of Peleg and Sarah Bailey, of Little Compton, who married Otis Seabury of New Bedford. They are mainly concerned with people and land in Little Compton, through Tiverton, New Bedford, etc. are occasionally involved."
