Wood wringing washer insert used inside wash tub for laundry. A.K.A. Wringer or Mangler. Metal L-shaped hand-crank with wood handle at PUL portion. Metal spring attached to each side of upper portion. Two ribbed, cylindrical wood turners held in place to two wood base sides by metal nails and screws. Stenciled in black on PL side of washer reads: "Richardson's / LITTLE WASHER / Pat'd July 16, 1867. / Manufactured by Eduard Cater, / TROY, N.Y.". Surface of washer is dusty and metal hand-crank is rusty. Hand-written on bottom of washer in black ink: "Almy / L.C." |
