Description |
Rectangular wood frame with two short wood legs, framing opaque glass washboard. Glass is textures and ribbed on front side and more smooth on back side. Frame held together by small metal nails at all corners and joints. Paper product label attached to the top of the base on the front is unreadable. Paper product label attached to the top of the base on the back reads: "National Washboard Co. / No. NATIONAL 862 / TRADE MARKS REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. MADE IN U.S.A. / CHICAGO [unreadable]". Surface of wood shows heavy mold and deterioration due to moisture and exposure. Label on front and back badly faded and worn and rotting in some places. Surface of glass is dirty. Remnants of white paint on wood frame. |
