Description |
Wall hanging needlepoint map of Little Compton based on the map painted by Sidney Burleigh in 1925, in multicolored cotton yarn. The west is at the top, uses symbols to mark sites of historical interest, and has a red and white border. Reads "A True Map of the Towne of Little Compton, Elis. A. Newton, Her Work 1929." The map was exhibited at the LCHS' Burleigh exhibit August 15 - 19, 1962. New adjustable hanging rod inserted in cotton border sleeve along top edge. |
